Major Jason Heller is the Education Officer, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 365, based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is responsible for all Professional Military Training for the 120-person cadet wing that has students across four universities. 

Maj Heller entered the Air Force in 2006 as a graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He began his career as a civil engineer leading base design and rapid construction teams in USINDOPACOM before cross-training into the acquisition career field.  As a developmental engineer Major Heller supported joint C2 integration through airborne networking and the Global Positioning System as Assistant Maintenance Officer for the 2nd Space Operations Squadron. In support of Operation Enduring Freedom he deployed for a year to Afghanistan as the chief engineer of NATO Regional Support Command – South, leading temporary construction for the Afghan Army and Police enabling coalition troop reductions. In addition, Major Heller directed highly classified programs in support of operational requirements for Combatant Commands, National and multi-National partners, and increased data availability in support of global nuclear treaty monitoring. Prior to his current position, Major Heller was the Division Chief for Special Programs at the Air Force Technical Applications Center, Patrick AFB Florida.  On 29 July 2021, Major Heller transferred to the United States Space Force.
