LIFE AT DETACHMENT 365

Life in Detachment 365 is defined by more than just military training; it is a shared pursuit of excellence among a community of high-achieving scholars. As a cadet, you will balance the academic rigors of MIT, Harvard, Tufts, and Wellesley with intense leadership development and physical conditioning. Every day is an opportunity to forge your character and prepare for a career as an officer in the United States Air Force or Space Force.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

PHYSICAL TRAINING (PT)

Monday and Wednesday mornings begin with PT. High-intensity interval training, calisthenics, and running focus on maintaining a standard of peak tactical readiness.

UNIVERSITY CLASSES

Cadets head to their respective campuses for morning classes. Academic excellence is the top priority, with cadets often pursuing engineering and STEM degrees. Detachment 365 cadets take classes in subjects ranging from nuclear engineering to artificial intelligence to political science and everything in between.

Professional Military Education (PME) covers Air Force history, leadership theory, and national security affairs in a formal classroom setting. Freshmen (AS100s) and Sophomores (AS200s) attend AS class one hour per week, while Juniors (AS300s) and Seniors (AS400s) attend for three hours.

AEROSPACE STUDIES CLASS
LEADERSHIP LABORATORY (LLAB)

Leadership Laboratory (LLAB) is a two hour once-weekly practical teaching and evaluation session. General Military Course (GMC) cadets in their first and second years learn skills in drill and practical leadership projects, while Professional Officer Course (POC) cadets in their final two years plan these sessions and mentor younger cadets in the program.

DINNER & EVENING

Many cadets choose to attend dinner together after Leadership Lab to build community across schools and class years. Cadets then return to their respective campuses for the evening. Success in the program requires discipline and time management to thrive both as a student and a cadet.
