Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Edwards
Detachment Commander
Lt Col Nicholas Edwards is the Commander at the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 365 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Mass. He leads a high performing cadre team to recruit, educate, and commission officer candidates for the USAF and Space Force at MIT, Harvard University, Tufts University, and Wellesley College.
In 2008, Lt Col Edwards graduated from Purdue University and commissioned through AFROTC. After completing training, he served as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Combat Crew Commander, Instructor, and Chief, 341st Missile Wing, Malmstrom Air Force Base (AFB) Mont. In 2014, he graduated from the USAF Weapons School, Nellis AFB, Nev. After graduation, he served as the Flight Commander, Weapons and Tactics, 532d Training Squadron, Vandenberg AFB, Calif. In 2017, he became the Assistant Director of Operations, 576th Flight Test Squadron, Vandenberg AFB, Calif. He was selected as the 2019 Air Force Fellow, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, N.M. In 2020, he became a Presidential Strike Advisor and Branch Chief, J-36, The Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington D.C. Prior to his current position, the Lieutenant Colonel was the Primary Nuclear Strike Advisor for the Commander and Deputy Division Chief, U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), Stuttgart, Germany.

Major Mark Dizon
Operations Officer
Major Mark Dizon is the Operations Officer, and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 365, based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Major Dizon was commissioned in 2015 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Officer Training School following a successful enlisted career as KC-10A Flight Engineer with multiple deployments in support of Operations ENDURING and IRAQI FREEDOM. He has served as a Crew Commander, Instructor and Evaluator on the UEWR missile warning, missile defense and space tracking radar. His career includes assignments as a Theater Watch Officer, Sensor Manager, Senior Instructor and Evaluator at the Combined Space Operations Center in Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
Prior to his current position, Major Dizon served as Chief, HQ Missile Defense at the NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, The Netherlands.

Captain Evan Amato is the Recruiting Officer and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 365, based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Massachusetts.
Before joining AFROTC, Captain Amato held a range of leadership roles within the Financial Management and Cost Analysis career fields. He served as Chief of Cost Analysis for the Aerial Networks Division within the Cyber and Network Directorate, part of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. Additionally, he served as full-time graduate student at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio and as a Deputy Flight Commander for both Financial Services and Financial Analysis in the 412th Comptroller Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, California.

Master Sergeant Jeffrey Treadway is the Officer Accessions Instructor, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 365, based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Master Sergeant Treadway enlisted in 2007 attending both basic training and technical school at Lackland AFB, Texas. Upon graduation from technical school, he received an assignment to RAF Mildenhall, UK.
During his time in the United States Air Force, he has participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and deployed to Africa in support of Joint Special Operations Command Counter Terrorism Operations against militant groups as part of Operation Juniper Shield. Staff Sergeant David Cade Jr. is the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Administration for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 365, based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He entered the Air Force in September 2007, attending Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, followed by technical training as an Information Manager at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Upon graduation, he received orders to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, where he served in the Communications Squadron as an Information Management Apprentice. In 2011, he was assigned to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where he served as NCOIC of the Post Office. In 2018, he received orders to Beale Air Force Base, California, where he worked as the Wing Executive Administrator. In August 2025, SSgt Cade arrived at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to assume his current role at Detachment 365.
